Week 2 — lost 128.0 to 145.5

0-2. Country Roads Take Mahomes was flagged here as the trap game and it was: they scored 100.5 in Week 1 while rostering Chase, Waddle, McBride and Harrison Jr., and put 145.5 on you.

The one thing that went right was the fix. Swapping Mevis for Will Reichard broke the kicker-defence pairing, and those two slots went from 2.0 in Week 1 to 17.0 — a 15-point swing. The Rams defence you kept scored 10.0. You lost this one in the skill slots instead: Lamar 22.5 against a 34.5 projection, Bijan 17.5 against 31.1.

Best free WR is Kayshon Boutte (119.2, against Sutton’s 191.2). Best free TE is Pat Freiermuth (139.9, against LaPorta’s 174.9). Best free defence is the Bears at 63.5, against your Rams’ 97.8.

Emmett Johnson, Adonai Mitchell and Rashod Bateman are all rostered now — those earlier claims are dead. Trades are the only lever left.

Sequencing matters: offer 1 already spends Reed. Send that first, and if it lands your spare pieces are Shaheed and Singletary. Do not promise the same player twice.

Anything involving Baker Mayfield. Lowest-projected QB1-equivalent in the league. Asking costs you credibility.

Trading for more running backs. Only 23 backs league-wide beat Warren’s 286.2, and each sits on a contender who won’t sell. Your RB room is already a strength.

Bijan or Lamar in any package. Top-five projected players in the entire league.

Week 1 post-mortem — why you lost

Seven skill slots produced 142.0. Kicker and defence produced 2.0. An average pair is worth 10–15 here.

It wasn’t bad luck twice — it was the same bad luck twice. The Rams lost 7–27, so the defence was shelled and Mevis never attempted a field goal because his own offence scored seven points.

You did not lose on lineup decisions. Your best possible lineup was 146.5 — swapping Nailor in for Sutton was the only gain available, and it still loses by 4.0. A roster construction loss, which only trades fix.

December: cold weather suppresses passing and lifts rushing volume, and this league pays double for rushing yards — a tailwind in the weeks that decide your season. Your title game is Week 17 of an 18-week season, so contenders rest in Week 18, not yours. The real risk is eliminated teams abandoning veterans.

Archetype value works out to QB 1.67×, workhorse RB 1.52×, WR 1.00× — receivers get no boost at all. Verified against ESPN’s own engine to within 1–4 points per player.

But don’t double-count it

ESPN’s projections already apply these rules. The multipliers explain why your roster is shaped as it is; they add nothing on top of a projection. Use them to understand the league, not to inflate a trade.

Never start a K and D/ST from the same NFL team. The one anti-stack in fantasy.
FLEX is always a running back unless every RB is on bye.
Check inactives Sunday morning. Lineup Protection is off — a surprise inactive scores zero with no substitution.
Stream D/ST hard. −3 at 400 yards allowed, −5 at 450, −7 at 550.
Torn between two starts? Take the higher Vegas implied team total.

League settings that bite

Undroppable players list is ON — some players cannot be dropped at all.
Max 8 RBs allowed. You’re at five; hoarding is legal and rational here.
Waivers are priority order, not FAAB. Claims cost nothing — claim aggressively.
4 of 14 votes veto a trade, two-day review. Keep offers looking balanced.
6 of 14 make the playoffs. Weeks 15/16/17, one week each, no reseeding. Build for ceiling, not consistency.
Trade deadline 2 December, 10:00 MST.
